Loft in translation

Friday, January 27, 2023

Today we worked on more of the upper walls around the loft area, and started to bring together the overhang corner above where the front door will be.

Golden hour from inside

After we finished up the west loft wall we put some smaller plywood sheets on the other small walls on the north and east sides. It’s considerably more comfortable inside the cabin structure, especially today when we had a few 30mph wind gusts.

Imposing corner

The upper part of the weird corner is joined together but the task of boxing it in in a way that makes sense is still ahead of us. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

As the sun was beginning to set, we switched to trying to get tar paper up on the roof so there would be some protection from the impending snow showers.

Glad to be feeling a lot better today, probably was good we had a rest day yesterday. I felt like I spent a lot of today supervising, but I tell myself having someone double checking the cut sides/angles on the weirdo notched studs is still helpful.

Hopefully we’ll be done with the loft section soon considering I’m quickly running out of bad loft puns.
